The YSR Congress Party has filed a complaint with the State Election Commission (SEC) alleging widespread attacks by Telugu Desam Party (TDP) members on its candidates during the municipal election nomination process. The YSRCP has urged the SEC to take immediate action on these incidents.
The YSRCP claims that TDP members are indiscriminately attacking its candidates in the constituencies of Kadapa, Tirupati, Rayachoti, Rajampet, and Darsi. The party stated that its candidates are being intimidated and prevented from filing their nominations.
The YSRCP highlighted that the municipal election nomination process across the state has led to severe tensions. The party has called on the SEC to intervene immediately regarding these developments.
The YSRCP has requested the Election Commission to take action against the alleged lawlessness by the ruling party and the one-sided approach of the police. The party has also sought security for its candidates to file nominations.
