The ruling YSR Congress Party is facing a shortage of candidates in the ongoing municipal elections across Andhra Pradesh. Chairman posts in eight municipalities are set to be won by the ruling coalition unopposed.

This situation is evident in Darsi of Prakasam district and Piduguralla and Gurazala city panchayats in Palnadu district. Only candidates from the ruling coalition filed nominations in these areas.

A similar scenario prevails in Yerraguntla, Mydukur, and Kamalapuram municipalities in YSR Kadapa district. No nominations were filed by other parties in these locations either.

In Annamayya district, the YSRCP candidates are also poised to win the chairman posts in Rayachoti and Punganur municipalities without opposition. Only ruling party candidates submitted nominations in these regions.

Following the conclusion of the nomination withdrawal process, the chairman posts for these eight municipalities will be officially declared as unanimous wins.
