Amaravati is preparing for a major deep-tech moment as IBM plans to deploy what it describes as India’s largest quantum computer at the Quantum Valley Tech Park. This project is expected to become operational in early 2027, marking a significant technological milestone for Andhra Pradesh.

The ambitious project is being developed in collaboration with Tata Consultancy Services and the Government of Andhra Pradesh. It is anticipated to become a key part of India’s growing quantum computing ecosystem.

Sandip Patel, Managing Director of IBM India and South Asia, stated that the facility is almost ready and that the machines should arrive early next year. The latest timeline points to early 2027 for full deployment.

The planned installation in Amaravati is expected to be anchored by IBM Quantum System Two, which will be powered by a 156-qubit Heron quantum processor.

This project represents an important milestone for Andhra Pradesh’s ambition to position Amaravati as a hub for advanced technology, opening new avenues for technological advancement in the state.
