A day after the urban poll results, Andhra Pradesh heads into another vote. Polling for 582 ZPTC and 7,778 MPTC seats is on Thursday, November 5. Campaigning ended on Tuesday evening. Votes will be counted on Saturday, November 7.
Arrangements
- 17,555 polling areas and 31,472 polling stations
- 1,841 stations rated highly sensitive and 2,645 sensitive
- 40,679 personnel in all, including 38,348 police of various ranks and 111 APSP platoons

DGP Harish Kumar Gupta said polling will be monitored from police headquarters using CCTV, drones and body cameras. He warned of strict action against anyone who disrupts the polls or turns violent, and urged people to vote without fear or inducements.
Why the date changed
The polls were first set for November 3. The State Election Commission moved them to November 5 because urban poll counting was on the same day.
What the parties say
Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan said he was confident the alliance would repeat its urban win in the rural polls. YSRCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy has alleged irregularities in the urban polls from nominations to counting. The YSRCP has not yet made a statement specific to the rural polls.
