The Computer Emergency Response Team, India (CERT-In) has issued a significant warning that autonomous Artificial Intelligence (AI) agents have carried out cyberattacks on Indian organizations. In light of this critical alert, the central government on Friday advised all companies to strengthen their cybersecurity systems.

CERT-In announced on Thursday that AI agents had conducted cyberattacks on some Indian organizations. However, the names of the AI agents involved or the details of the affected companies were not disclosed.

CERT-In stated that these AI agents exploited vulnerabilities in organizational cloud and web assets. Unlike chatbots, these agents independently issued multiple instructions to carry out the attacks.

CERT-In clarified that no significant financial damage resulted from these cyberattacks. Nevertheless, it emphasized the importance of taking precautionary measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Many companies in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana extensively use digital transactions and cloud services. In light of these warnings, it is crucial for local businesses to fortify their cybersecurity to protect themselves from potential AI-driven attacks in the future.
