Hyderabad-based edtech company byteXL has raised $9 million in its latest funding round, as reported by YourStory.com. The round was led by Elevar Equity, an impact investor, with participation from existing investors Kalaari Capital, an early-stage VC, and The Michael & Susan Dell Foundation, a philanthropic foundation.
This latest funding round follows a $5.9 million Series A raised in July 2024, indicating continued investor confidence in the company's growth trajectory.
Founded by brothers Karun and Sricharan Tadepalli, byteXL collaborates with engineering colleges, particularly in Tier II and Tier III cities, to integrate industry-oriented technology and artificial intelligence learning into students’ regular degree programmes.
The company operates on a business-to-business (B2B) model, working through institutions rather than selling courses directly to individual learners.
byteXL combines curriculum, practical projects, technology platforms, and trained educators with existing college programmes. According to YourStory.com, the company claims that 7,600 of its graduates were placed in IT and engineering roles last year.
This funding will enable byteXL to further enhance its offerings and reach, potentially benefiting a larger number of engineering students in Tier II and Tier III cities across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana by providing them with industry-relevant skills and improved placement opportunities.
