The Road Transport Authority (RTA) in Telangana is set to utilize Artificial Intelligence (AI) services to enhance transparency in the conduct of driving tests. This new system, effective from October 17, 2026, aims to make the driving test process more stringent.

An RTA team recently studied AI-based driving test systems successfully implemented in other states. Based on this study, the RTA has decided to introduce AI across all RTA offices in Telangana.

As part of this project, the RTA is preparing to implement the AI process as a pilot project at the Nagole and Kondapur driving tracks. After successful implementation in these two centers, the system will be expanded statewide.

Following revelations of irregularities in driving tests during ACB raids, RTA officials have decided to conduct these tests more rigorously as part of efforts to curb road accidents.

This AI system will conduct the entire examination process without the involvement of middlemen or interference from officials. This ensures that only those with a genuine understanding of driving will be able to pass the test.

This initiative will contribute to improving road safety in Telangana and enhancing the credibility of the driving license issuance process. It will ensure that licenses are granted only to those who genuinely possess driving skills.
