AdaniConneX and Google's upcoming data centre campuses in Visakhapatnam will employ air-cooling technology to minimise freshwater consumption. These facilities will feature water recycling, zero discharge, and dedicated industrial water connections to safeguard local water resources.

Unlike traditional data centres that often rely on evaporative cooling systems and cooling towers, the new facilities will use an air-based cooling method. This eliminates the need for water-intensive evaporative cooling processes.

The planned campuses at Mudasarlova and Tarluvada are part of a larger data centre development, projected to have a capacity of approximately 1 gigawatt (GW). The total water demand across all three sites is expected to be less than the volume of an Olympic-sized swimming pool.

This project aims to strengthen Visakhapatnam's position as a hub for artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, and advanced digital infrastructure.
